Our Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology services can assist people with neurological, spinal and work-related injuries to live their best lives and minimise the impact of their conditions. Whether you are focused on improvements or recovery, this person-focused service is designed to help you.

We can service NDIS plan-managed or self-managed participants, Aged Care, DVA, Lifetime or insurance/injury customers.

Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology are allied-health professions with expertise in movement and exercise prescription throughout a person's lifespan.  SchemeWise supports people 12 years and older.

In assisting people, we work using specific interventions for people where movement and function are, or may be, affected by illness, ageing, injury, pain, disability, disease, disorder or environmental factors.

Interventions and supports are usually focused and designed toward developing, restoring and maintaining optimal health and are focused within each person's particular goals.

SchemeWise professionals can help people manage chronic conditions, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, MND, spinal cord injuries, brain injury issues, post-stroke recovery, vestibular issues, musculoskeletal problems and tone (cerebral Palsy and Autism), general health and fitness following a personal injury, or rehabilitation support for work-related matters... just to name a few!

Difference between a Physiotherapist and an Exercise Physiologist

  • Physiotherapists have more knowledge in musculoskeletal and neurological assessments, allowing them to diagnose, where EPs are not able to make a formal diagnosis.
  • Exercise Physiologists generally work with conditions and injuries that are more chronic, whereas Physiotherapists have more knowledge in an acute setting (think the initial rehab period, although both can work with more chronic issues too).
  • Exercise Physiologists have further knowledge in exercise prescription and special considerations for exercise in various populations. Their focus tends to be more on building strength, fitness and endurance after an initial period of rehabilitation.
  • The two professions compliment each other! You might start with a physio (if required) then move to an EP-based service to continue your 'reablement journey.' There is usually a higher intensity of effort within EP service delivery.
  • An easy way to remember the difference between the two... is that a physio gets you going, and an EP keeps you going.

SERVICE DISCLAIMER: Please note that Medicare services are not offered at this time. Customers are required to pay at the time of appointment, or have obtained a payment/service authority, or sign a service agreement for invoicing to relevant schemes (dependent on their circumstances).  Strictly no cfredit accounts.  Some customers may be able to seek reimbursement of costs from Medicare or their private health insurance, secondarily. If we provide service in-home or community locations, there may be additional travel costs, and we may need to conduct a risk screen for service safety. Use of these services may require medical clearance to be obtained and we may also need to seek a medical summary to inform service parameters. For this reason, service personnel will complete a pre-assessment check to ensure safety within initial service planning. Please be advised that misrepresenting facts about yourself, your circumstances, etc, may increase risks within physical therapy delivery for which we are not liable. At any time, should our clinicians have concerns over your health or wellbeing, they may temporarily pause, change focus of, or discontinue the therapy service. As part of accessing this service, it is strongly recommended that you strictly follow all physical therapy guidance, and do not work against the advice provided.  Working against professional advisory may result in injury, or other misadventure, for which SchemeWise is also not liable. Services can only be delivered in community locations where safe to do so, and our clinicians reserve the right to end or not perform a service if they believe there is a reasonable or substantive risk to their safety (includes unadvised illness, customer/others behaviour, environmental, or pets, etc). Short Notice Cancellation charges apply for no shows, no response or other cancellations due to service safety, unadvised issues, etc, on arrival (minimum one hour service fee plus any realised on-cost).
