Bushfires in ACT and NSW

Please be safe

SchemeWise asks that customers, their families, friends and significant others remains safe during the current bushfire crisis.

P2 face masks are essential across many localities where smoke haze remains high - especially for young people, people living with chronic lung conditions and the elderly.  In the ACT, P2 masks are available for people whom meet these categories at local chemists.  People with asthma or whom are pregnant need to take particular care.

SchemeWise has emailed all current customers advising on the options and supports available to them.  If you have concerns or need assistance and are impacted by fire please reach out to us on our 1300 number (available from the website) and leave a message.  In advance we express our deepest concern for you and yours and trust you are safe now.

From our part, SchemeWise staff have assisted several customers currently impacted on the NSW south coast.  We, along with the NDIA, have processes in place to assist you and affected providers (and their staff) too.  Recent Australian and NSW Government announcements indicate aid to assist impacted people is now  beginning to reach them.  More will be needed in future... and for those lucky and less affected we ask you practice compassion for your fellow impacted community members.

Please do not be complacent.  Rather, over the coming few months remain vigilant and prepared to take action to keep safe.  A battery-powered radio is a worthy investment in event of power loss so you can remain informed.  ABC radio (666AM) is the local emergency broadcaster in the ACT and NSW Snowy-Monaro areas.  People in other areas can check the appropriate local station designation on the ABC website here.

Stay safe, be alert, remain informed, prepare to take action and leave if necessary.
